In California, the mini-FTC act is Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 17200 to 17210. Under this legislation, the State Attorney General, District Attorneys, and City Attorneys have a cause of action against unlawful, unfair or fraudulent business act or practice and unfair, deceptive, untrue or misleading advertising. An action must be brought within four year of the violation. Remedies include injunctive relief, fines, and restitution damages.
