Idaho Consumer Law

In Idaho, the mini-FTC act is Idaho Code Ann. § 48-601 to 619. Under this legislation, the State Attorney General has a cause of action if a person engages in a variety of unfair or deceptive acts or practices in the conduct of any trade or business. The Attorney General can obtain injunctive relief, recover damages on behalf of the consumer, order specific performance, recover up to $5,000 per violation, and recover reasonable expenses. An action must be brought within two years of the violation.
